Tomas Pacheco

J. Doroteo Tomas Pacheco, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at his home in Newcastle. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery.

Tomas was born September 9, 1938 in Santa Rosa Jauregui, Mexico to the late Fermin and Patrocinia (Suarez) Pacheco. He married Pueblito Pacheco in 1959 in Santa Rosa Jauregui, Mexico and she preceded him in death. Tomas loved being outdoors, horses, walking around town, spending time with family, telling stories of back in his day, and joking around with the grandkids. He was always a hard worker and never a dule moment with him. Tomas had a green thumb for his rose bushes, involved in his church, loved by everyone in the community. He will be missed by all. He also gave good advice to all his grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include: daughters, Clemencia Moreno and husband, Socorro of Newcastle; Maria Moreno and husband, Alfredo of Santa Rosa Jauregui, Queretaro, and Ma. Isabel Paredes and husband, Angel of Jalpa, Guanajuato; sons, Eloi Pacheco and wife, Marie Agustina of Santa Rosa Jauregui, Queretaro, Jose Pacheco and wife, Irene of Newcastle and Pablo Pacheco and wife, Maria Natividad of Newcastle; sisters, Rufina Pacheco of Santa Rosa Jauregui, Queretaro and Ofelia Pacheco of Queretaro, Queretaro; 25 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sons, Rogelio Pacheco and Federico Pacheco , daughter, Teresa Pacheco, sister, Modesta Pacheco, brother, Juan Pacheco, grandson, Carlos and two granddaughters.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
