Tomas Solis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 31, 2024.
Tomas Solis Jr., age 85, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024.
Tomas was born on April 9, 1938 in Mexico to Thomas Solis Sr. and Margarita Garcia. He spent his childhood in Texas until 1954 when he moved to Colorado. Tomas farmed all his life. He was married to the mother of his children, Maria Robles, for 25 years. He later found the love of his life, Linda Johnson, and they spent the last 39 years together.
Tomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping throughout his life. He could often be found "people-watching" at WalMart. However, his greatest joy was his family. He loved family gatherings and spending time with his grandkids, who absolutely adored him. Tomas nurtured his kids to be the best they could be, and was very proud of the people they became as adults.
Tomas will be dearly missed by his loved ones left behind, including his wife, Linda Johnson; his children, Tomas Solis III (Michelle), Margarita Solis, Albert Solis (Alex), Mary Larson (Leonard), Lori Cruz (John), and Raymond Solis (Michelle); Daughter-in-law, Donna Solis; Brother, Rudy Solis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Josie Huber; sons, Joe Solis and Danny Solis; his parents; one sister; and three brothers.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m.

My Grandpa Tom was, well; something else.. He loved each and everyone one of his grandkids soo much! He was the guy with a story about everything. Grandpa loved his Cowboys and Indian shows, I swear they were always on. He was there when my son died, and just cried with me. He knew the pain of losing a son. He knew how I felt. Shortly later, he had lost another son, and we had a long talk about our Lord and Savior. I don't think I was the one to save him, but I know he was! He'll be with our family in Heaven watching us as we remember them all. I know my Mother Annette and Step-Dad Chris (his Best Friend) will have plenty of stories for my children to hear about him as well. They spent a lot of time over there, making plans for us to bring some KFC and hang out for a while. I'll cherish those moments forever, and will share them with my babies for always!
