Tomasa Lopez Obituary
Tomasa "Tom" Lopez, aged 99, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, August 5, 2024. She was born in Lockhart, Texas on December 22, 1924. She moved to Alvin, Texas as a little girl and remained a lifelong resident of Alvin, Texas, where she was a devout member of St. John Catholic Church. She graduated from Alvin High School in 1945. She went on to marry Paul Lopez. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Mexican Village where she was affectionately known by some as "Tomi." She also enjoyed thrifting and yard sales.
Tomasa is survived by her daughter, Anita Ruiz and husband Robert Ruiz of Alvin, Texas; grandaughter, Monica Ruiz; grandson, Scott Ruiz and his wife Han; great grandchildren, Ariel Davis, Kara Davis, Emily Davis, Lauren Davis and Sophia Ruiz.
Tomasa is preceded in death by her parents, Agraciano Almanza and Venigna Vasquez; husband, Paul Lopez, and son David Paul Lopez; sisters, Anastacia Valadez, Adela Alvarez Lares, Consuelo Almanza, Lutricia Cortina; brother, Felix Almanza.
The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Adela Almanza, Kassandra Rodriguez, Chris Kitchens, and Sarah Kitchens for their love and on many occasions, they helped with her care.
Visitation will be held at Oak Park Funeral Home Chapel August 12, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Service will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church following a burial at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
