It is with heavy hearts yet fond memories that we celebrate the life of Tommy Draper Keene, a cherished husband, father, and devoted friend, who passed away peacefully due to natural causes on July 10, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Born on April 27, 1948, Tommy filled our lives with love and laughter, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, compassion, and community spirit.A proud graduate of Texas Tech University in 1971, Tommy spent thirty-one remarkable years in sales with Nestle USA, where his dedication and commitment became a hallmark of his career. He was not only a skilled salesman but also an inspiring mentor, imparting wisdom and kindness to those around him. His profession was a reflection of his warm character, which he carried into every aspect of his life.Tommy began his remarkable journey with his high school sweetheart, Molly Keene, whom he married on June 15, 1969, in Levelland, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising sons Heath (Joanne) and Justin (Johanna), with whom Tommy shared countless adventures and joyful memories. As a father, he embodied love and support, always encouraging his children to pursue their dreams. As a grandfather, he loved to show adventure to his grandkids: Jaxson Robert, Violet Mae, Lillian Rae, Charlie Allen, and Jonathan Draper.A proud veteran, Tommy served in the Army National Guard from 1971 to 1977, a testament to his patriotic spirit and commitment to serving his country. He was a devoted member of Redeemer Lubbock, where he actively contributed to the community and shared his faith with others. His passion for Christ was evident in every endeavor, and he inspired many to follow in his footsteps. An avid Texas Tech fan and an unfortunate Dallas Cowboys supporter, Tommy's enthusiasm for sports brought joy to family gatherings and friends alike. Beyond the stadiums, he found solace in nature, where he could be found fly fishing and sharing his knowledge of the great outdoors with anyone who crossed his path. His zest for life and the simple pleasures it offered will be sorely missed.Tommy's celebration of life will culminate in a funeral service at Sanders Memorial Chapel on July 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM, where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible man he was. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Levelland Cemetery. In this time of grief, let us remember Tommy not for the sadness of his departure, but for the joy and love he so generously shared. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, inspiring us to live fully, love deeply, and serve selflessly, just as he did. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; Draper and Violet Keene, brother, Culby Keene, and sister, Ann Post. In lieu of flowers, please give memorial contributions to Redeemer Lubbock Church (https://pushpay.com/g/redeemerlubbockother).

That is a happy Tommy. He loved to fish and teach people how to fish. I will miss him dearly.
