Tommy Lynn Thomas

Tommy Lynn "Slick" Thomas, 64, of Lillington passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

He was born February 19, 1962, to the late Jessie Ruth Wilder Thomas and William Russell Thomas. Tommy grew up working at his family's business, T & J Motors, where he developed a lifelong passion for cars and parts. He graduated from Harnett Central High School with the Class of 1980 and earned a business degree from Campbell University in 1984.

Following college, Tommy began a more than 30-year career with Carquest Auto Parts, building lasting relationships while often traveling along the East Coast. Though his work took him many places, he always remained rooted near his family and his hometown of Lillington. For nearly the last decade, he worked in his hometown at Womble's Hardware, where he valued the opportunity to help and connect with members of his community.

Tommy was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. Though quiet by nature, he also had sense of humor that brought smiles to those who knew him well. He especially loved showing pictures of his grandchildren, who brought him great joy, and talking about his gun collection. He spent many years riding his Harley-Davidson, earning the nickname "Slick" among friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Thomas and Bobby Thomas; his sister-in-law, Patsy Thomas; his uncle, Billy Wilder; and his nephew, Schuyler Thomas.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Thomas Currin and husband, Luke Currin, of Fuquay-Varina; his grandchildren, Kingston and Irie Currin; his brother, Rex Thomas and wife, Carol, of Raleigh; his sister, Barbara Wade of Lillington; nephews, Jeff Thomas, Paul Wade, Jason Wade, and Patrick Thomas; nieces, Toni Thomas, Suzanne LaRocca, and Morgan Thomas Gojanovich; and cousins, Tony Wilder and Karen Wilder.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Summerville Presbyterian Church in Lillington, followed by a graveside service.
