Tommy was born on June 6, 1944, to Francis and Essie Turner in Wellington, Texas. As a young boy he grew up in both Boise and Goodwell, Oklahoma and graduated from Goodwell High School. After high school, he would meet Neoma Collins on a blind date in Lefors, and they later married on June 6, 1966, in Dumas.

Tommy enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a Navy Corpsman, assisting as a medic to the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. During his service, Tommy would receive the Vietnamese Campaign ribbon, National Defense ribbon, and a Purple Heart for the service to his country. Following his discharge, Tommy returned back to Texas to start a career in sales. Later, he would open his own business, Hi Plains Filtration in 1989, where he served many clients and created a family business with this business endeavor.

Tommy was a people person who never met a stranger, he could talk to anyone, and always made life-long friends. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards & chess, reading, and watching game shows with his wife. However, working and maintaining his ‘57 Oldsmobile and going to car shows brought him the most joy. Tommy was a member of the Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary, Clarence, J.D., VeLoyce, and Bob; and a daughter, Cindy Stuart.

His survivors include his wife Neoma Turner of the home; son, Art Turner and wife Valerie of Pampa; three grandchildren, Alexis Ferguson and husband Cole of Yukon, Oklahoma, Trevor Turner and wife Morgan of Amarillo, and Austin Turner and wife Emily of Pampa; son-in-law, Robert Stuart of Pampa; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

The family would like to extend gratitude to caregivers, Rose Estrada, Victoria Estrada, Ana Estrada, Lolly Reyes, Melissa Cottrell, and Leticia Recendiz for their loving care of Tommy.
