Toni M. Cortez, a compassionate and dedicated individual, passed away on December 18, 2023. She was a retired employee of the City of Kingsville and had also been a provider for home health care. Toni touched the lives of many through her selflessness and her legacy will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Born on April 21, 1954, Toni M. Cortez led a life filled with love, compassion, and devotion to her family and community. She embodied the true spirit of giving, always placing others before herself. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was admired for her generous heart.
Toni's undying love for her family and friends was evident in everything she did. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones, always cherishing the moments shared with them. Each of her family members, including her church family, held a special place in her heart. She was deeply connected to her faith as a devoted follower of Christ and lived each day with the aim of being the hands and feet of Jesus by dedicating herself to serving others. Her acts of kindness left an indelible mark on those she touched.
In addition to her family and faith, Toni had a few hobbies that brought her happiness throughout her life’s journey. Shopping and traveling were activities that allowed her to explore new places and experiences while enjoying the company of loved ones. Additionally, Toni had a passion for recycling as she recognized the importance of preserving our environment.
Toni is preceded in death by her parents Fernando and Manuela Cortez, husband Ramiro P. Suarez, as well as siblings Fernando, Guillermo, Eduardo, Eugenia, and Rosa.
Toni is survived by her daughter Maria A. Crowley (John), her grandkids Hannah M. Hill (Drew) and Jacob V. Crowley, as well as her siblings Hector, Dolores, Maria, and Diana. Alongside them, numerous extended family members join in mourning the loss of Toni.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Toni's life at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, in Kingsville, TX, commencing at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Toni M. Cortez's profound impact on the lives of those around her will remain a source of inspiration for years to come. Her selflessness and unwavering love will be dearly missed but never forgotten. As we bid farewell to Toni, let us remember her for the incredible person she was and carry on her legacy by spreading kindness and love to one another. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
