Toni Kay Elder, 75, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Seymour.
Toni was born to Ralph and Florence Pugh on July 11, 1948, in Jackson County, IN, and was married to Michael D. Elder in 1968.
After meeting Mike in the Army, while stationed at Fort Hood, TX, they returned to Seymour and had two daughters, Tammy Nix, and Amy Bullard. She was a homemaker for most of her life with various jobs she enjoyed. The most important aspect of her life was her love for Jesus. Second was her love for her family. She enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, lunch and shopping with her sister, daughters, grandchildren, and life-long friend, Margie Emily. She was never without pets or coffee, as she loved both.
After the passing of her husband, she met her life partner, Jim Montgomery, and they enjoyed over 20 years together.
Survivors include her life partner, Jim Montgomery, sister, Bonnie Lazzell, daughters, Tammy Nix of Jeffersonville, IN and Amy Bullard of Carbon, IN, grandchildren: Brett, Brenna, Cole, Alex and Bryce, stepsons, Nate Montgomery and Adam Montgomery, many nieces and nephews. Toni was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: June, Marge, Caroline Florence Pugh, twin sisters: Gloria Jean and Honey Jane, and Bill; husband, Mike Elder, and granddaughter, Lauren Bayon Brown, son-in-law, Tracy Bullard.
