Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. - Stuart on Nov. 18, 2025.
In the Golden Time of day of February 7, 2025, God called home his daughter Toniett Summerville.
Born June 25,1958 to Lessree Summerville and Tommie Clay, in St. Louis Mo.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Toniett better known as Toni, gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. Obidiah Jones of the Liberty Baptist Church.
She attended the University City High School and graduated in 1976. Furthering her education, she attended college and graduated with a BA in psychology and later earned a Master's in Social Work. (MSW)
Toni's only child Shari, whose name Biblically means, Song of God, was the daily music of her life and was so very loved by her Mommy.
A devoted grandmother, Toni shared a special bond with her grandchildren. Armon, her grandson whom she adored, and Nyla, her granddaughter who was the light of her life and her best friend. Their connection was unbreakable, a deep, unwavering love that brought joy and fulfillment to all their lives.
As an aunty, Toni was more of a second mother to her beloved nieces and nephews: Aaron, April, Briana, Fredia, and Hermon, and she embraced them with warmth and devotion. She was the heartbeat of her family - a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose love for life and family will be forever cherished.
Toni was a woman of immense warmth and joy, and she lived life with an infectious energy that touched everyone around her. A passionate cook, she delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together, often feeding those she loved with food prepared from the heart. Her kitchen was a place of laughter, love, and togetherness, and her culinary skills were surpassed only by the generosity of her spirit.
Toni was an avid traveler, always seeking new places and experiences to enrich her life. Whether exploring new cities or enjoying a quiet afternoon in nature, she cherished the beauty and diversity of the world around her. Her love for music was another defining aspect of her life. Whether attending live bands or listening to jazz, she was always moved by the rhythm of the melodies that brought her joy and comfort.
Known for her playful spirit, she enjoyed spirited games of spades, where her sharp wit and trash-talking skills made her the life of the party. Her competitive yet loving nature created lasting memories during family game nights, where laughter and friendly banter filled the room.
Toni leaves to celebrate her life, Daughter; Shari (Richard), Granddaughter; Nyla Hanglan, Grandson; Armon Hanglan, Sisters; Carrie Jackson and Brenda Rhone, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In the Golden Time of Day, she was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father.
Although you're physically not with us, your presence will live in our hearts forever.
