Tony Clifford Conger, born on June 24, 1964, in Spokane, WA, to Christine Hughes and Kenneth Conger, passed away on July 30, 2024.

Tony moved to Utah, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, CherEl Smith. Together, they welcomed four wonderful children. Tony was a devoted father, creating joyful memories with his family through boating, camping, fishing, and wrenching on anything with an engine. These memories will forever be held in our hearts and cherished.

Tony had a lifelong passion for cars. He was skilled at rebuilding and restoring classic vehicles, including a Chevelle, Corvette, several trucks, and custom sand rails. Tony loved to build cars almost as much as he loved to wreck them, his Demolition Derby trophies filled an entire room. Some of his favorite memories consisted of the Tooele outlaw days, where he was at a derby or working on a derby car most weekends with some of his favorite people.

His love for cars continued, as the next phase of his life led him into stealing cars for the bank, as a repo-man. He owned and operated Roadrunner Recovery with great pride. He cherished having his two sons involved in the business.

Tony’s love for his children—Kevi, Brody, Stefani, and Jacob—and his grandchildren—Montana, Tripp, Ryker, Oakley, Cora, Max, and Taron—was evident and shown until the very end. We love you Dad, thank you for helping us become the adults we are today. To our one and only Papa- you will be missed, and we love you more.

As we say goodbye to our dad, we find peace in knowing there was a joyful reunion as he was welcomed into the arms of his mother, father, and his cherished grandmother, Catherine Roberts, whom he admired and missed deeply.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., with Sharing of Memories at 7 p.m. at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah.
