Inge Margot Elma Lessing Hunzeker, 87, beloved wife and mother, passed away on November 28, 2025. Born in Kalwehlen, East Prussia, Inge immigrated to Logan, Utah when she was 13 years old, fulfilling her grandmother's dream of Inge gathering with the saints in Utah. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she lived a compassionate life filled with service, love, and generosity.
She worked in the school lunch program at Mount Fort Middle School for 20 years, offering nutritious meals to countless students. She was also an active participant in her community and church, serving as the Relief Society Secretary, Cub Scout Leader, Blazer Leader, and counselor for the Relief Society.
Inge's life-long passion was family history. She was enthusiastically involved in the German extraction program and submitted hundreds of names for temple work. She also enjoyed many handicrafts, such as quilting, crocheting, and making yarn hats, with many of her creations donated to help keep the homeless warm. Other hobbies included gardening, family camping trips, and listening to her husband, DeVon, serenade her. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan who rarely missed a televised game. She always put family first.
Inge is survived by her loving husband, DeVon Hunzeker, and their six children: Kathryn (Kurt) Rigby, Gary (Joyce) Hunzeker, Steven (Lynn) Hunzeker, Mark (Linda) Hunzeker, Karen (Martin) Makanui, and Nancy (John) Hall. She had 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willi and Emma Huebner Lessing; her brothers, Kurt and Fritz Lessing; and her beloved sister, Ursula Mudrow.
Inge was a light in this world, a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a generous friend, and a compassionate neighbor. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.
