Eleanor Ann Godfrey Hadley, was born September 26,1941 in Harrisville, Utah. On November 22, 2025, Eleanor returned back to her Heavenly Father to be reunited with her husband LaGrand, her daughter Pamela and other family members and friends. Eleanor passed away due to complications with kidney failure. Eleanor graduated high school from Weber High and was soon married, September 30, 1959 to her lifelong eternal companion, LaGrand Hadley. LaGrand and Eleanor had six children.
Eleanor loved living and working on a farm. She pulled her weight when it came to cutting asparagus, bailing hay, cutting corn and overall canning and juicing anything that could be canned or juiced. The number of quarts of tomato juice or jars of pickles that were put up for the winter were uncountable. She loved to crochet and knit and was able to sew any button on any type of pants imaginable. She wasn't the most advent hunter but she completed the missions LaGrand gave her to scare the geese in the fields in certain directions.
Eleanor also enjoyed working for the IRS for over thirty years becoming a manager in her area. She was well liked by her employees and really anyone she met. She was the nicest of the Hadley family and was the most social. Eleanor with her husband enjoyed going to the Idaho State Fair and going to Elko to the horse races. Mom always bought the best gifts for the kids when she would go to these places. LaGrand taught the kids how to play cards, but Eleanor taught the kids how to have fun with them. Eleanor even became a friend to Uncle Leo at the Utah Noodle and always talked keno and bingo tips with him.
Mom was many things but at the heart she was the greatest teacher and example of what a person should aspire to become. She was polite, friendly and civic minded. She was the entertainment for the Plain City Founders Day for years. She helped with community projects and was named the first "Best Mom" for the Plain City 4th of July. Her children learned many lessons in her life and even more lessons in her last days.
Eleanor is survived by her children Leann (Mark) Kilts, Fred and (Cheryl) Hadley, Jan (Tracy) Wilson, Larry and (Melissa) Hadley and Joe and (Kimberly) Hadley. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Eleanor was preceded in death by her father and mother W. William and Hattie Godfrey, her husband LaGrand Hadley and her daughter Pamela Hadley, along with her siblings, Jesse (Marge) Godfrey, Lois (Thurman) Hutzley, Louise (Dale) Call, Allen (Jean) Godfrey, Russell Godfrey, Wallace (Ann) Godfrey and William (Jeanne) Godfrey.
