Tony A. Cox left this earth peacefully to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, July 17th, 2024, his loving wife by his side, in the home they shared for nearly 53 years. Tony is survived by his wife, Janice Rives Cox, his daughter & son-in-law, Jill & Adam Miller, and his two granddaughters, Claudia & India Miller. Tony is also survived by his brothers, John (Sherry), Danny, & Joe (Charlet) Cox, and sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Faye Cox, LeGrande & Ann Rives and Beth & Jerry Thomas, along with dozens of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces & nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his deeply missed parents, Leamon & LaVerne Breedlove Cox, brothers, Jimmy & Ronnie (Margie) Cox, and sister-in-law, Suzane Cox. Tony, born in Hartselle, AL in 1942, was the third of six boys and moved with his family to Hueytown, AL in 1953. He graduated from Hueytown High School in 1960, & served in the Alabama National Guard from 1964 until 1970. In 1967, Tony bought Bush Septic Tank, and with the help of his wife Jan, whom he married in 1971, he owned & operated Bush for over 40 years. To many in the Hueytown area, Tony will always be Mr. Bush, yet Tony was more than just a local businessman. He was a lovingand devoted father to his daughter Jill Cox (Miller) and her husband Adam Miller. He was a caring and determined grandfather to Claudia and India Miller. He served as a Deacon for many years at Hueytown Baptist Church & later in life joined the Baptist Church at McAdory. Tony loved his family, camping, Alabama football, fast cars, old guns & collecting knives, but above all, Tony cherished his faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to embodying Christ's teachings. Tony Cox was a wonderful, caring man who enjoyed life most when he saw the people he loved happy. He is deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held in Tony's honor, Saturday July 27th, at the Baptist Church at McAdory at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Tony to Saint Jude Hospital.
