Anthony "Tony" Di Pietrantonio, 79, of Weirton, WV, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
Tony was born in New York City, NY, on May 27, 1942, to Rosa Assalone and Benedetto Di Pietrantonio. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School in NYC.
Tony was a successful private contractor and worked in Weirton and the surrounding areas for many years. He enjoyed music, watching auto races and other sports, especially his children's and grandchildren's athletic events and his favorite NY Yankees. Tony was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Tony is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia (Kitty) Norman Di Pietrantonio, and his six children, Judi (Craig) Coffield, Anthony (Pam) Di Pietrantonio, Benedetto (Donna) Di Pietrantonio, Mark Anthony (Kimberly) Di Pietrantonio, Gina (Joe) Conforti, and Rose (Chris) Kopp, grandchildren: Danielle Coffield Smith, Joshua and Nathanial Coffield, Angela (Kody) Kobik, Sabrina, Tabatha, and Anthony Di Pietrantonio, Anna (Jason) Hulfachor, Benedetto Di Pietrantonio, Isabella and Gianna Di Pietrantonio, Frank McCardle, Mackenzie (Alec) Hawken, Sydney and Foster Burns, Nicholas Kopp and 17 great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Rosa Assalone and Benedetto Di Pietrantonio, his brother, Francesco, and his sisters, Angela Feroce, Antonia (Antoinette) Sellitti, and Maria Assunta (Mary Susan) Di Pietrantonio.
Visitation will be held 6- 9 PM Monday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston and Rev. Fr. Walt Jagela will concelebrate.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery.
