Tony Allen Elders, 64, of Marion, Illinois, passed away at his home on March 15, 2026.
Tony was born on September 13, 1961, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Richard and Ada Elders. A true "jack of all trades," Tony was a man of many talents and a skilled woodworker who found great joy in working with his hands. His wide range of interests included NASCAR, wrestling, building model cars, camping, fishing, and crafting.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Elders of Marion. He was a proud stepfather to Gary (Laurie) Sims of Queen Creek, AZ; Angie (Jason) Hammonds of DeSoto, IL; Kendra (Wayne) Williams of Marion, IL; Brandon (Laura) Sims of Chesapeake, VA; and Christy (Pablo) Polanco-Alvarado of Queen Creek, AZ.
He leaves behind a legacy through his many grandchildren: Keila (Josh) Stearns, Ciera (Jacob) Weddle, Bianca (B.J.) Cunningham, Kayla, Tessah, and Reagan Sims, Tyler and Zori Williams, Kenny (Lainey) Paintner, Landen Owens (Sims), Logan Sims, Steven, Wiley, and Chevy Elders, and Sheila Gurley. Tony was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Bobby Hanks and Lindall Hanks; his dear friend, Teresa (David) Ward; and his best friends, Jim Aaron and Jimmy Headrick.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Richard and Ada Elders; his brothers, Jack, Earl, and Ricky Elders; his sister, Nancy; his granddaughter, Brittany Williams; and his best friends, Paul and Jesse Shelton.
Per Tony’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
