He was preceded in death by his sister, Betha Evans; brother, James Hays; and by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret Hays of Queen City; children, Michael Wayne Hays of Augusta, GA, William Preston Hays of Oakdale, LA, Toni Burton and husband Robert of Commerce, Patrick Wayne Hays and wife Kristy of New Boston; siblings, Sherry Antee and husband Willie of Atlanta, Anita Shew and husband Wayne of Linden, Brian Hays and wife Donna of Blanchard, LA; brother-in-law, James McCreery and wife Dolorse of Atlanta; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
