Tony Glen Moore

"Just tell 'em I've gone fishin' where the fish are always bitin', the water's always clear, and there's no more day or night just a golden, shining light."

Tony Glen Moore cast his final line on October 8, 2025, at the age of 66. We're pretty sure he's already found the best fishing spot in Heaven – calm waters, perfect weather, and fish that practically beg to jump in the boat. The engines never overheat, and there's an endless buffet of his mama's cooking.

Born on September 17, 1959, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Bobby G. Moore and Dorothy Chandler, Tony grew up with a fishing pole in hold hand and a wrench in the other. If it had an engine, he could fix it – or break it – depending on the day. He loved his cars almost as much as he loved catching a good bass… but not quite as much as he loved his mom.

Tony was an only child, which might explain his stubborn streak and his expert ability to win every argument (or at least think he did). He had a quick wit, a mischievous grin, and a laugh that could fill a room. He believed in two things: there's no such thing as too many fishing lures, and calories don't count if Mama made it. He worked hard, loved even harder, and made friends everywhere he went– mostly because he never met a stranger, just potential fishing buddies.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Bobby G. Moore; paternal grandparents, Deliah and Lorenzo Moore; maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Mildred Gentry; maternal uncles: Billy Gentry, Johnny Gentry, Ronnie Gentry, Mike Gentry, Tim Gentry, and Roger Gentry; and maternal aunts: GayLynn Cunningham, Libby Godwin, and Melanie Smith.

He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy Chandler, of Quinlan, TX who loved him with her whole heart; uncles and spouses: Darrell and Pat Gentry of Sulphur Springs, TX; Jackie and Kathie Gentry of Yantis, TX; aunts: Nelda Johnson of Nash, TX; Jeanette and Jake Graham of Mansfield, TX; Cynthia Agan, Beverly Carpenter, and Kim Proctor of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and many cousins and dear friends.

Tony's finally got the endless lake he always dreamed of – and if you listen close on a quiet morning, you might just hear him chuckle, "Now that's a keeper."

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
