Tony (Quinn) Gipe Obituary

Tony Ann (Quinn) Gipe, born on December 8, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Tony leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a passion for teaching that deeply touched the lives of those she encountered.

Educated in Madisonville, Kentucky, Tony graduated from Madisonville North Hopkins before pursuing her dream at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in education. She dedicated her professional life to teaching, thriving in her role and cherishing the moments spent with her students. Her commitment to education was evident in the way she inspired and nurtured her students, always encouraging them to follow their dreams.

Tony's proudest accomplishments were rooted in her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Courtney (Eric) Allen. Tony basked in the joy of being a grandmother to Emerson and Brooks, who were truly the lights of her life.

A creative spirit, Tony found joy in crafting, scrapbooking, and reading. These hobbies provided her with an avenue for self-expression and relaxation, but it was the time spent surrounded by friends that filled her heart with the most joy.

Tony is survived by her beloved daughter, grandchildren, and siblings: her sisters, Donah (Roger) McDonald and Dru (Brent) West, and her brother, David (Kym) Quinn. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marilyn Quinn, who surely welcomed her with open arms.

The visitation and funeral services will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN, on October 19, 2025. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM.

Tony Ann (Quinn) Gipe will be remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her.
