Tony Reynolds, 60, of Ocoee, departed this life peacefully on April 15, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born on November 5, 1963, in Cleveland, to Paul Reynolds and the late Wilma Woody Reynolds.
Tony had a love for people and always tried helping in any manner that was needed. He worked a life of service to the communities of Polk County. Tony served as a Deputy Sheriff, EMT, managed The Litter Program for Polk County Government, and was a faithful member of the West Polk Fire & Rescue for most of his life. He also served for 25+ years as the Emergency Management Director for Polk County.
Tony was a wonderful friend to everyone and will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of having known him.
In addition to his mother, Wilma Woody Reynolds, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Reynolds; maternal grandparents, Ben Woody, and Ina Helton Woody Frazier; paternal grandparents, Ross, and Vesta White Reynolds.
Left to cherish the many memories include his father, Paul Reynolds; beloved sisters, Debbie (Charlie) Reynolds Earls, and Rhonda Reynolds; sister-in-law, Kim Reynolds; aunts and uncles, Barbara (Jimmy) Burger, Brenda Blount, Jerry Pritchett, Brenda N. Reynolds, Brenda J. Reynolds, Ruth Anderson, and Bobby Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Mandy Reynolds, Amy (Chris) Ledford, Katie (Wyatt) Wilson, Adam Reynolds, and Kelsey Isbill; great-nieces, Ryleigh Reynolds, and Eleanor Wilson; great-nephew, David Powell; a host of cousins that Tony dearly loved, and many friends, including Richard Taylor, Steve Lofty, and Howard Deverell, and hundreds more, along with the numerous colleagues at the fire department.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmy Parm and Rev. Steve Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery, with Adam Reynolds, Timmy Anderson, Ray Anderson, Wayne Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Chris Ledford, and Wyatt Wilson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Reynolds, Brian Reynolds, and the past and present members of West Polk Fire & Rescue.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
