Tony James Taylor, cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was born on December 20, 1954, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to MU James and Virginia Gurtrue (Mize) Taylor. He grew up and received his education in Catoosa.
Tony married his beloved wife, Vikki Rachelle Guinn, on January 14, 1986. Together, they established their home in Barnsdall, creating a loving environment filled with warmth and devotion. A dedicated professional, Tony worked as a welder for several companies including Yuba Heat, Lee C. Moore, John Pickle Company, and Auto Crane, where he earned respect and admiration for his skills and work ethic.
Beyond his career, Tony's passions were deeply rooted in the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and leather working, spending countless hours camping, boating, skiing, tubing, and reveling in all activities that brought him closer to nature and the water. His love for playing the guitar added another layer to his rich life, providing joy and entertainment to those around him.
Tony is survived by his adoring wife, Vikki Taylor, and four children: Jodie Minor and her husband Jacob, JT Taylor, Shawn Taylor, and Jessica McDade. He also leaves behind a brother, Kevin Taylor and his wife LeAnn, a sister, Phyllis Bates, nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, MU and Virginia Taylor, and his sister, Patricia Ann Mills.
A visitation to celebrate Tony's life will be held on March 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook, Oklahoma, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Throughout his life, Tony touched many with his kindness, skill, and love for his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
