Tony Valverde, 76, of Porterville, California, passed away on December 8, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1948, in Porterville to Manuel and Faye Valverde, who preceded him in death. Tony is survived by his wife, Judith Judie Valverde: his sons Michael Valverde (Shawna) and Matthew Valverde (Misty); and his grandsons, Hudson Valverde and Ryker Valverde, affectionately known to Tony as Partner 1 and Partner 2. Tony dedicated his career to serving others as a special education teacher at Westfield Elementary School in Porterville. Tony was passionate about helping students reach their full potential and made a lasting impact on many lives. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing and treasured time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony Valverde and I were not only work colleagues but also friends. Tony and I first met when he was a special education day class teacher at Vandalia Elementary School, where at one point he was instructing and supervising up to 28 students in a setting where he should have had only a maximum of 14 students. When an opening occurred in 1999 as a special education resource specialist at Westfield Elementary School, Tony transferred to that position, again ably serving special needs students. Tony was a very kind and thoughtful individual. We were in contact after his and my move to Florida. Tony loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was living with his grandsons and their parents. It was an honor to have been a friend of Tony.

I worked with Mr. Valverde at Westfield Elementary School, and saw how caring he was towards not only my Kinders, but all the students he saw each day. My thoughts are with his family.

My wife Valerie and I are very sorry to learn of Tony's passing. I played golf with Tony frequently several years ago. Valerie and I looked forward to catching up with Tony and his best friend "Lucky" at the Ponte Vedra YMCA. We pray for Tony's family and offer our deepest sympathies. RIP
