Tony Curtis Yates, 65, of Pennington Gap went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at his residence.
Tony was born on March 16, 1959 in Yuma, Arizona to the late Jerry Yates and Josephine Marshall Yates. Tony worked for several years as a coal miner until his retirement. He loved to fish, and was a master mechanic who could fix anything put in front of him. He loved doing things for others and never met a stranger. Tony was a loving husband, caring father, proud grandfather, faithful brother and uncle.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Roger Yates; and sister, Loretta Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Yates; sons, Jason (Jaime) Yates and Aaron (Kayla) Murphy; daughter, Amanda (Brad) Mullins; grandchildren, Ethan Massengill, Eli Murphy, and Evander Murphy; sisters, Jean Hale, Glenda Ellis, and Lisa Kennedy; brother in-law, Randy (Susie) Norman; special friends, Bub Murphy and Lisa Pennington; fur companion, Bailey; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.
A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating and family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Tony Curtis Yates and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
