Gloria Jean Yates, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born January 19, 1947, in Thomasville, North Carolina to the late Bernard Eugene Lambeth and the late Peggy Hooker Moore. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Grady Reece Moore.

Affectionately known as “G”- a nickname given by her grandchildren- she found the most joy in being with the people she loved. Ms. G’s greatest love was watching and supporting her grandchildren at any sporting or school event, known as someone who supported and cheered loudly for anyone on the field. She loved horses, birds, and could always be found expertly building a puzzle or Lego set.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for an informal celebration of her life from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.

She is survived by her brother, Barney Reece (Elizabeth) Moore Jr.; daughter, Tammy (Dennis) Campany of Harrisburg, NC and grandchildren, Megan, Nicholas, and Hannah; son Jimmy Lee (Mary) Yates of Monmouth, IL and grandchildren, Samantha Wray, Sara McDermott, Stormi Klinger, Ethan Yates, and Jimmy “Lee” Yates Jr, and four great grandchildren.
