Michael Lee Burris, 82, of Concord, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025 at Atrium Health University Hospital in Charlotte.
Mike was born July 11, 1943 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Ottis Lee Burris and the late Helen Louise Roberts. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, brother Vernon E Burris, and sister Cindy Hedrick.
He was a loving husband of 59 years to his wife, Doris Burris, and a loving father to Paige Norris( Rusty) and Leah Desloge (Brian). He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Cody Norris, Peyton Norris, Mason Desloge, and Myles Desloge.
Mike graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years. Mike was a member of the Newell Masonic Lodge #739 and The Gideon's International. He was active in Roberta Church of Concord, serving as Lay Leader.
He will be remembered for his passion and talent in carpentry and bluegrass music, as well as his love of camping, and his clever sense of humor. Mostly he will be remembered for the way he fiercely loved his family and friends.
His successful career in the construction industry spanned more than 60 years from business owner/ entrepreneur to leading countless large construction administration projects across the country. His legacy endures through the standing of the many strong foundations he built and his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-3:30pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Roberta Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4pm at Roberta Church, 3925 Cochran Rd, Concord, NC 28027.
Memorials may be made to Roberta Church or Newell Masonic Lodge #739 .
