Daren Lynn Moore, 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Atrium Health in Charlotte, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Charlotte on August 4, 1963, Daren was the cherished son of Coy and Faye Brewer Moore. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1981 and went on to earn his degree from UNC Charlotte, where he was a proud member of the Chi Phi fraternity. His time there forged lifelong friendships and a deep connection to the community he would call home. Daren built a distinguished career in banking, spending 27 years at Bank of America, where he served as an account executive and unit-level Vice President. Known for his integrity, warmth, and steady leadership, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Outside the office, Daren found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His beach house on Oak Island was his sanctuary-a place where laughter echoed, sunsets were savored, and the door was always open to family and friends. He was a passionate sports fan, especially of football, and loved playing golf, attending concerts and plays, and reconnecting with his fraternity brothers in Charlotte. It was in Myrtle Beach that Daren met the love of his life, Tonya McCall. Both UNC Charlotte alumni and banking professionals, their shared roots blossomed into a beautiful marriage. Together, they raised two children, Savannah and Tucker, who were the pride of their lives. Tonya preceded Daren in death in 2022, leaving a void that only his deep love for family could begin to fill. Daren is survived by his devoted children: Savannah Moore (Aaron Way) of Chapel Hill and Tucker Moore (Mallory Gallegos) of Charlotte; his aunts, Nancy Brewer of Fort Mill, SC, and Shelia Brewer of Pineville, NC; his niece, Christina Morgan (Chase) of Charlotte; and his mother-in-law, Carolyn McCall of Mint Hill. He is also remembered fondly by his fraternity brothers and a wide circle of relatives and friends who will miss his generous spirit and easy laugh. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tonya, and his parents, Coy and Faye Moore, whose 50-year marriage served as a guiding light for Daren's own life and family. In keeping with that belief in family, the privilege of caring for Daren has been given to the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home. A graveside service honoring his life, love and blessing will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 19, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road. All are welcome to not only attend but to bring with them a favorite memory to share. Daren's legacy is one of loyalty, love, and laughter-a man who lived fully, gave freely, and cherished deeply. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
