Tonya Hope Gardner, age 51, of Roosevelt, passed away December 9, 2024, at the University of Utah Hospital.
She was born November 13, 1973, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Darrell and Colleen Reed Gardner. She met Jimmy McCook almost a year ago, and they have been together ever since.
Tonya was a homemaker and loved to cook. She made sure everyone was taken care of and that they had food to eat, even if they were a stranger. She made friends easily and was a Dallas Cowboys fan! She attended and cooked for Sun Dances. Her grandbabies were her world and she adored them more than anything.
Tonya is survived by her children, Trenton “TJ” (Raedel) Curry, Neola; Kiana Curry, Heber City; Rylee Curry (Dirk Fillingim), Roosevelt; grandchildren, Treyson, Tairen-Marie, Tynzlie-Dawn, Kasey, Britlee, Daxx, & Honey; her fiancé, Jimmie McCook; siblings, Ilona Slim, Roosevelt; Edson (Linda) Gardner, Ft. Duchesne; Evelda (Jerry) Rasmussen, Roosevelt; Trina Gardner (Zane Tahguv), Whiterocks Road; David Gardner, Draper; Yvette (Joe) Christensen, Whiterocks Road; Natasha Gardner, Roosevelt; Roger (Lee) Gardner, Gary (CC) Gardner, Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Bud Gardner, Sheryl Foster, James Gardner, Dawn Thompson, April Gardner Ross; nephews, Darrell III, Sonny; nieces, Robin & Mia; brothers-in-law, Johnny Slim, and James Foster.
Per her wishes, she was cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
