Tonya Sue Shepherd

Tonya Sue Spears Shepherd, age 38, of David, KY, wife of Gabriel Shepherd, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her residence. She was born April 23, 1985 in Prestonsburg, KY, a daughter of Goldie Spears (Mark) Hilton, Raccoon, KY and the late Larry Joe Spears. She was a member of Fitzpatrick Baptist Church, Director of Philanthropy for Bluegrass Care Navigators and formerly employed by the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her son; Griffin Silas Gabriel Shepherd and her daughter; Juliana Elizabeth Shepherd, one sister; Chrystal Ratliff, Oxford, OH, one half sister; Melinda Hockeberry, Marietta, OH, one half brother; Larry Stephen Spears, Drift, KY.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Shepherd and Tommy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashland Elizabeth Shepherd Family Cemetery, David, KY, visitation is after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
Pallbearers: Gabe Shepherd, Griffin Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd, Jett Shepherd, Jace Shepherd, Nash Shepherd, Brett McCormick, Tom Ratliff, Larry Spears.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a scholarship fund for Griffin and Juliana. An account has been made in Gabe's name at People's Bank. Donations can be made at People's Bank locations in Prestonsburg, Paintsville, Pikeville or Martin.
