Tracey Darell McNeil went to be with the Lord on August 30th, 2024 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center- with her fiancée, David Duncan, by her side.
Born on November 03, 1971 in Durham, NC, she was a lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ. Tracey was a loving and caring daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, and friend. She cared about everyone and would do whatever she could to help out.
She was her family's personal chef and man, could she cook! She could cook anything and poured lots of love into every dish. Tracey was the life of the party wherever she went and you knew that she was there. "Tra", as she was affectionately called, loved to eat crabs, go to the casino, listen to music, sit in her chair, and spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She would also curse you out one minute and love on you in the next. She will truly be missed!
Tra went through so much in her lifetime, but never complained. She lost two of her three children to gun violence in Trenton, NJ and these tragedies took a heavy toll on her life. With a broken heart, Tracey still trusted God and never gave up. She remained one of the strongest women in her family.
Tracey was predeceased by her sons, TaQuan and Shaquan "Joey" McNeil; goddaughter, Bykeea Douglas; niece, Quamierah Massey; godmother, Brenda Campbell; aunt, Madge Blackstone; special cousin, Lukeisha Johnson and Sharon Blackstone; maternal grandparents, James and Katie Mcneil; paternal grandparents, James and Lillian Terry; Pop-Pop, James Hopewell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her son, ShaQuille McNeil of Trenton NJ; nephew who was raised as her son, Willie E. Holloway McNeil of Philadelphia, PA; three godchildren, Tykia Thompson of Willingboro, NJ, Akerrah Campbell of Trenton, NJ, and Antwan Mosley of Burlington, NJ; mother, Ethel McNeil Spriggs (Gregory) of Trenton, NJ; father, Stanley Terry of Trenton, NJ; four sisters, Michelle McNeil, Sherry Terry, Latasha Spriggs, and Wykia Young; two brothers, Willie Holloway McNeil and Stanley Terry; godsister/best friend, Angel Knox; godbrother, Alford Knox; grandmother, Claudia Hopewell; grandchildren, Skye, Heaven, Jahsir, Armani, Joelle, Ky'lei, London, Star, Taylor, Mar'lei, and Rylei; two nieces, Michelle and Quianna; nephew, Brion McNeil, whom were like her children; five aunts, Pearl Holloway (Samuel), Joannne (Dave), Lydia Beaman, Marguerite Terry, and Janet Gonzalez( Wilfredo); three uncles, James McNeil (Charlotte), Samuel McNeil (Evelyn), Vincent Terry (Mary); and special friends, Tracy White, Juanita Jenkins, and Cherell Hall.
