Tracy Lee Pitts of Heflin, Alabama was born on August 24,1959 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025. A lifelong free spirit, Tracy was a hippie by nature and a wanderer at heart. Prior to his death, he came to know Jesus and experienced peace during his battle with cancer.
Born to Howard and Betty Jean Pitts and raised alongside siblings Buddy and Bobbie in Mableton, Georgia, Tracy was a proud graduate of Pebblebrook High School. Tracy often reflected on the friends he grew up with; from playing baseball and going to the roller rink to "shooting the hooch", he enjoyed it all. He spent his career as a skilled insulator and was a member of Local 48.
Tracy was a remarkably gifted handyman-someone who could fix absolutely anything. Whether it was a broken appliance or a car issue, he had an uncanny ability to figure it out.
His greatest legacy is the love he poured into his family. He raised his stepchildren as his own from the time they were young: Ashley Stallings (Stokes), Shea Shaw (Chris), and Wes Perkins (Amber). He is also survived by grandchildren Griffin Rogers (Emma), Lyndsey Harman, Hayden Perkins, Gavin Dukes, Barrett Shaw, Palmer Shaw and Harrison Perkins, and great-grandchildren Brayleigh and Grady Rogers. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Angela "Angie" Ledford Pitts and great-granddaughter, Lainey Rogers.
He leaves behind a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss his unpredictable spirit and unforgettable stories.
The family will celebrate Tracy's life at a private gathering on Sunday, November 23rd in a way that would be fitting to him – sharing kind words, funny "Paw Paw" stories, and enjoying rock and roll music.
