Travis Lawson, 57, of Shell Knob, Missouri, left us on Monday, August 18, 2025, doing what he loved spending time on Table Rock Lake. Born June 23, 1968, in St. Louis County to Ernest and Terry (Sherfy) Lawson, Travis was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Duke and Peggy Sherfy. From a young age, Duke and Peggy provided him with unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love, shaping him into the man he became. Their influence meant everything to Travis, and it was through their care that he found his true sense of belonging. With their encouragement, Travis settled in Shell Knob, a place he cherished and called home for more than 45 years a community where he built lasting friendships and created a life filled with purpose and joy. Anyone who knew Travis could count on finding him under the hood at Lakeside Auto, where he spent more than 15 years working as a mechanic before setting sail on a new adventure in marine construction.

Work wasn't just a job for Travis it was a passion. And when he wasn't working, you'd find him out on the water, fishing rod in one hand and his loyal pup Baby by his side. Travis's love for fishing was only rivaled by his affection for Baby, and together they carved out countless memories on the lake. But nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his children and grandchildren, who truly were the brightest part of his world. Travis lived life with a big heart, a ready laugh, and an open invitation to anyone who wanted to share in his adventures. Travis enjoyed hunting, and he often gathered with friends and family at a large table for lively games of rummy. Travis had a knack for cracking jokes and was always ready with a witty remark that would catch you off guard just when you thought you knew what he'd say, he'd surprise you with something hilarious and completely unexpected!

Survivors include his two daughters, Sammie Lawson and her partner Brandon Wallace of Monett, Missouri, and Maggie Grimes/Drake and her husband Jimmy of Pierce City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cameron Wallace, Camden Lawson, Brelynn Grimes, Ellie Grimes, Lennon Grimes, and Jude Grimes; two brothers, Trevor Lawson of Big Cabin, Oklahoma, and Todd Lawson of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Shelia Chaney/Tetzlaff and Shellie Tandarich both of Jacksonville, Florida; one uncle, Scott Sherfy; two aunts Lisa Sherfy and Denny Blake; six cousins, Chance, Brandon, Holly, Addison, Shannon and Shawn; many nieces and nephews; and one very special friend, Julie Finney.

Travis is preceded in death by his grandparents Duke and Peggy Sherfy.

A celebration of life will be held September 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm at The Shell Knob Shrine Club 28149 Big Rock Rd, Shell Knob, Missouri, 65747.

Memorials may be made to his six grandchildren and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.
