Travis Shull Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home - Sherrodsville on May 9, 2023.
Obituary
Travis Allen Shull, age 53, of Sherrodsville, Ohio rode on to his next journey on May 5, 2023, doing one of the things that brought him his greatest joy.
Travis attended Susquehanna Schools and graduated from Indian Valley North. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy where he traveled the world and learned his trade. Prior to his death he served as a Power Plant Operations Manager.
Travis was preceded in Death by his father Larry Allen Shull, paternal grandparents Joe & Marjorie Shull and maternal grandparents Paul & Gene Gaeckler.
He is survived by his wife Maryse Shull; mother Cynthia Gaeckler Rose and husband Bob Rose of Dallastown, Pennsylvania; brother Shannon Shull of Oberlin, Ohio; sister Tiffany Spence Hackler and husband Adam Hackler of York, Pennsylvania; nephews Trevor & Hunter Shull and Blake Hackler; and special girls Pixie who waited 'fur'vently for him to come home from work each day and SpookieBoo (nicknamed PukieBoo by Travis) who would always oblige with a coughed-up hairball.
Travis had a huge personality, living every moment to the fullest extent possible. He never met a stranger he would not talk to; he made friends everywhere he went. Travis loved to make people laugh even if he just met you. His professional work ethic was dutiful and diligent. Punctuality was a hallmark - he never liked being late to any appointment; whether personal or professional. His favorite times were spent outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, and riding motorcycles but also sharing his wisdom with family and friends on how to be a master sportsman like he was. He enjoyed storytelling, spending quality time with friends traveling as long as there was a hot tub and a cold brew.
A one-hour graveside visitation will be observed commencing at 12:00 Noon, Friday, May 12, 2023 in the veteran's section of West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown, Ohio. A graveside service officiated by Rev. Milo Baker will begin at 1:00 P.M. Military honors will be presented by The Newcomerstown Veteran's Honor Guard. Following the graveside services, a private Celebration of Life (by invitation only) will be observed.

Travis, I´m so sorry to see you go. May you rest in peace. I will continue to retell that special story of the brown turtle (dog that was peeing on your dad´s car). That story has made me and countless others to laugh out loud. My sincerest sympathy to Maryse and rest of family.

Travis was one of the first I met when I came to the Doswell plant. He trained and qualified my on the Board, knowing him made me a better person. Although I've considered most of the folks I've worked with over the years as work buddies, Mary and I really considered Travis and Maryse to be friends. I still smile thinking of him playing me some heavy death metal song and announcing at the end, "Did you hear it, it's Freebird". I will miss him. Maryse, you have our deepest sympathies.

My deepest sympathies to Maryse, family and friends. He departed this earth way too soon. He left a mark at EthosEnergy where he was very well respected. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you the strength to accept this loss and help you carry on. Warm regards, Ana

Travis was a very good man and I´m sorry to hear of his passing. While I knew him mostly through work (Doswell), we both enjoyed motorcycles and did a few rides. When we first started working together Travis was fresh out of the Navy and growing his "Rat Tail" hair. Thinking of that makes me smile! We had our share of laughs and lots of meals. I´m sorry for your loss Maryse and family.

Deepest condolences to Maryse, family and friends. We will miss Travis he was a treasured and admired friend and colleague of the highest order. In the workplace I will miss his matter of fact, calm and organized reports on our daily call which I genuinely looked forward to - Travis had a way to bring calm to a hectic sea. I'll also miss stopping into his office to see his latest gadget and hear his honest review of it's pluses and minuses.

Fair Winds Travis.
