Travis Lee Varner, 53, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Born on September 13, 1972, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roger and Margaret (Young) Varner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George “Billy” Varner, and a niece, Becky Varner.
Travis attended the Lyncher Day Program and truly embraced life. He loved taking part in special activities, with swimming being one of his favorites. His joyful spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew him. In his final act of generosity, Travis chose to donate his organs, giving the precious gift of life to others.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Varner, (Cheryl); his sister, Susan Mummert (Whitey); several nieces and nephews; and his aunts, Tootie and Sandy. The family would also like to acknowledge the Washington County Human Development Council, whose members not only supported Travis but became his extended family over the years.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown,
