Treena Lorentz Obituary

Treena Lorentz, 54, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on November 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born on February 2, 1971, in Oklahoma City, Treena was the daughter of Bobby and Sandra Lorentz. She was preceded in death by her parents Sandra and Bobby Lorentz, and her sister, Denise Lorentz.
Treena is survived by her devoted partner, Mark Hemming; her brother, Donald Lorentz, and his wife, Sarah; her three cherished nieces, Destiny, Bailee, and Chloe, whom she adored with all her heart; sister/longtime friend, Joy Smith; and best friend and colleague Glenna Frawner.
Early in life, Treena worked alongside her parents in the family business. With her mother's encouragement to "go get a real career," she took a bold step in 1998 and began what would become a distinguished 27-year career with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Starting as a cadet, Treena's dedication and leadership carried her through three different facilities, ultimately rising to the rank of Chief of Security III. She proudly took her final call at Lexington Assessment and Reception Center (LARC), leaving behind a legacy of strength, fairness, and unwavering commitment to those she served alongside.
Treena left her mark on everyone she worked with-officers and inmates alike-through her fierce loyalty, unshakable dedication, and a rare blend of compassion and steel. She was instrumental in helping countless incarcerated women and men navigate the hardships of prison life while never losing sight of their humanity. She guided them toward education, programs, and the practical tools they would need for the day they walked out the gate. She celebrated their victories as loudly as she held them accountable for their choices.
Outside of work, Treena lived life full throttle. She loved casting a line while fishing, cheering loudly as Mark raced his stock car, and hitting the open road on adventures near and far. Her white Dodge Charger was her pride and joy-she'd flash a grin and declare, "I drive it like I stole it!"
Treena lived bravely, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed beyond measure, but her spirit will forever ride shotgun with those she loved.
Rest easy, Chief. Your watch has ended, but your story lives on.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM, on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, Ave., in Moore, Oklahoma. Flowers may be sent to this address.
