Eddie Gene Matthis

Eddie Gene Matthis 62 of Moore Oklahoma passed away on November 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. His life was filled with simple joys, big laughs, and a love for the things – and people – that made his days brighter.
He enjoyed spending quiet moments playing casino games and games on his phone, a pastime that brought him both relaxation and a bit of excitement. But nothing compared to the joy he felt when he was surrounded by his grandchildren. Whether he was playing with them, telling stories, or simply watching them grow, he treasured every moment spent with his family.
Eddie loved working in his yard, finding peace in the fresh air and satisfaction in caring for the place he called home. He was also a devoted wrestling fan, rarely missing a match and always ready to talk about the latest showdown. And, of course, he had a lifelong fascination with Bigfoot-an interest that never failed to spark conversation and bring a smile to those who knew him.
He will be remembered for his humor, his warmth, and his ability to find joy in the everyday. His love for his family and the hobbies that filled his life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by Wife Paula Matthis, Son Devan Matthis, Daughter Whitney Cox and Husband Cody, Son Joshua Clattenburg, Son Jonathon Clattenburg, Daughter Kristen Harrison, Sister Martha Harris and Husband John, Sister Janice Downard, Brother David Lee Matthis and Wife Julie, Sister Susan Johnson and Husband Thomas. Grandchildren -Dakota Cox, Lilly Cox, Grayson Cox, Jace Paxton, JoJo Chattenburg, Jada Paxton, Julia Paxton, Jalynn Clattenburg, Averey Clattenburg, Lorelai Harrison, Jett Clattenburg and many many more grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Mother Norma Jean and Father Titus David Matthis.
