Layton, Utah – Trent Johnathan Weaver passed away June 22, 2023. He was born to Ronald D. and La Vee C. Weaver on March 28, 1959, at the Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
Trent had a special relationship with his father, mother, and his sister, Rona Vee Short. She was his best friend, and he also had a close relationship with her children, Daren Short and Danielle (Clarence) Brown, and great niece, Sydra Brown.
As a young man Trent became intrigued with automotive and spent his life tinkering with his classic performance cars. These cars brought him a lot of joy - not to mention attention wherever he drove them.
Trent attended Layton High School in 1975 and 1977. For the majority of his young adulthood, he worked for Arrow-Huss, Volvo GM, and Tech Steel as a metal fabricator, welding assembler and layout fitter. Trent later earned a Social Work Degree at Weber State University and pursued a career in local government at the county and state levels, which lead to his final job as Disability Claims Examiner for the Social Security Administration. At Social Security, his boss commended him on his accuracy of his work and not having made an error in three years; his boss started referring to him as "Mr. Integrity".
Trent loved fine art and earned a Fine Art Photography Degree at Weber State University. He restored and printed various antique family photographs of his father and mother. He entered two photographs in the Utah State Fair – winning a first-place blue ribbon and a second-place red ribbon.
Trent had a passion for snow skiing and pursued his First Responder's Certification. He worked as a ski patroller at the pro and volunteer levels for approximately 15 years.
Trent married and later divorced. He did not have any children. Trent's mother and father were a big influence on his character, often reflecting on their words of wisdom. Trent was also a friend of Bill and Bob, spending endless hours in this endeavor.
Thanks Dad and Mom for giving me my wonderful, loving, caring brother and best friend. We had good times, bad times, his laughter, his smiles, his personality, our talks and we enjoyed spending time together. He also loved me for who I am. He loved my kids Danielle, Clarence, Daren, Rosey and granddaughter, Sydra. We love him so much and will miss him dearly. I'm so glad you're my brother.
Love Rona, his sister
