Trenton M. "Bud" Cornell, 74, of Bucyrus, died Monday, April 24,2023 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion under the care of his family and Gentiva Hospice.
He was born August 28, 1948 in Lancaster to the late John and Ethel (Evener) Cornell and was a 1967 graduate of Bucyrus High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Tiffin University. On March 7, 1970, he married Oriana M. Trout and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Trent served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He received an Expert Rifleman Award and a Presidential Unit Citation for retaking the citadel in the Battle of Hu
He worked for Rockwell International and Bucyrus City Schools in finance. He was a drummer for various bands, Bucyrus Little Theatre, and a renowned percussion advisor for both Bucyrus and Wynford High School marching bands. He worshiped at Blooming Grove UMC.
Trent is survived by cousins, Richard Evener and Chris Evener, both of Lancaster, and Richard Greene of Kenton; brothers-in-law, Bob (Pat) Trout and Harold (Ramona) Trout; nephews and nieces, Brook (Christine) Trout, Candee Ditty, Brad Trout, Terik (Kym) Trout, and Tonya (Mark) Dearing; as well as other extended family members.
Friends may gather for Bud's graveside funeral on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Heather McLeod officiating and military rites by the USMC Honor Guard and Bucyrus Veterans Military Funeral Detail. Memorial donations may be made payable to Wounded Warrior Project and given at the service or sent to Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus OH, 44820.
