Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral Home from Jan. 14 to Jan. 15, 2026.
Mrs. Triska Denielle Thompson Rice, age 64, of
Blue Ridge, GA passed away January 8, 2026. She was born March 23, 1961 in
Carrollton, GA to Curtis Wayne Thompson and Audrey Arnold Thompson. She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis.
Triska graduated with the Haralson County High School Class of 1979 and shortly after graduation joined the United States Navy, serving her nation from 1981 to 1983. Following her military service, she continued her academic journey at West Georgia College, earning a Bachelor's degree in English in 1996.
Triska had a deep love for dance and found great joy in photography, both of which reflected her creative spirit and artistic eye. She was a gentle soul-uniquely talented, thoughtful, and kind in ways that touched everyone who knew her. She was devoted to her family and cherished by her friends, but Triska's greatest joy was her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. To know Triska was to love her. May we all strive to carry forward her kind spirit.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Michael Rice, of Blue Ridge; mother, Audrey Arnold Thompson, of Tallapoosa; sons and daughter in law, Rory and Tracey Wood, of Blue Ridge and Trey Wood, of Epworth, GA; granddaughter, Arwen Wood and three more grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at 2:00PM at West View Baptist Church with Johnny Daniel, Bro. Tommy Allen and Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Music will be provided by the West View Church choir and Patti McClure.
Her family will receive friends at the church on January 16th, for one hour prior to the service.
From the family of Triska:
Yesterday family and friends joined to celebrate Triska Rice's life at West View Missionary Baptist Church in
Tallapoosa, Georgia. With a great deal of sadness, we said goodbye to Triska, but with a great deal of gratitude, we enjoyed many expressions of love for her from those who attended her service. Thank you to all of you. We want to thank all of those at Miller Funeral Home in Tallapoosa, too, who worked to make this day more bearable, especially Mindy Miller-Moats, who kindly and patiently guided us through this difficult process. We also want to thank those who participated in the service–whether you greeted us at the door, brought us bottles of water, read tributes, played music, sang songs, or encouraged us from the scriptures. We further thank the brothers and sisters of West View for hosting Triska's service and for the abundant meal afterwards, a kind first step to our beginning life without our beloved Triska. Finally, we want to thank all who prayed for us, sent flowers for the service, planted trees in Triska's memory, or sent food to sustain us in our loss. There are too many of you to thank individually, but this is just another indication of how greatly Triska is loved. We will all miss her.
With grateful hearts,
Michael Rice and Family
