Troy Carlton McDonald was born on October 17, 1971, to Roosevelt and Delores McDonald. He was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, where he attended Vailsburg High School. He later continued his education in Ellenville, New York, where he earned his high school diploma.
Troy worked for T-Foye for several years. In later years, he served as a laborer across various fields.
On June 26, 2025, Troy departed this life peacefully in his home at the age of 53.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt McDonald Sr., and his brothers, James Manuel, Roosevelt McDonald Jr., and Louis McDonald.
Troy leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Delores McDonald; his children, Tyshaun (Shontell), Tyeshea, and Khamill; the mother of his children, Sabrina; and his nine beloved grandchildren: Loyalty, Journey, Naziyah, Samiyah, Iyana, Zoey, Zymir, King, and Karma. He is also survived by his siblings: Tyrone (Lisa), Marie, Lisa, and Robert (Tanya), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his best friend, Michele Ward, for her unwavering love and support.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:27
A Message to Dad:
Dear Dad, we hope you're at peace, somewhere far beyond what we can see. A father's love continues on, even after he's gone. It lives on as a treasure, forever hidden in the hearts of his children.
Love,
Tyshaun, Tyeshea, and Khamill
