A graveside service for Truman Louis "T-Byrd" Byrd, age 86 of Tyler, Texas is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Lindale City Cemetery in Lindale, Texas with Bro. Sherman Mayfield officiating.
Truman passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Tyler. He was born September 23, 1938, in Ladonia, Texas to the late Truben Columbus and Violet Beatrice (Timberlake) Byrd. Truman has lived in the Tyler area since the 50's where he graduated from Tyler High School in 1957. Immediately after graduation he went to work for Modern Electric Company and attended night school at Tyler Junior College. Truman retired as an Electrician after 38 years of service to Tyler Pipe Industries. Truman was preceded in death by his sisters, Oma Lee Sloan and Glenna Gaines, and brother, Vester Byrd.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Diann Brown of Tyler; sons, Michael Brent Byrd of Tyler, and Mitchell Shayn Byrd and his wife, Jennifer of Lindale; granddaughter, Harley Shaddox and her husband, Michael of Lindale; 2 great grandchildren, Jesse Elliot and Levi Truman Shaddox.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to paloma Hospice. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Hospice nurses, Amy and Lori for their extraordinary care.
