Tsadu Hagos Gebreamlak was born in Asmara, Eritrea on September 19, 1949 from his father, Ato Hagos Gebreamlak and his mother, Wiezero Tsegeweini Andegergish. He attended elementary and middle school in Camboni and Adventist Mission. He finished high school in Gaza Kenisha.
After finishing high school, he was trained as a radio technician and joined the Ethiopian Air Force 1967. He was jailed as a sympathizer of the Eritrean liberation forces and languished in prison for 7 years.
After his release from prison, he escaped to Sudan. In Khartoum, he was employed as a communication technician by Chevron oil company and was able to support his family and fellow refugees.
In 1984, he came to the United States in a resettlement program. While supporting himself by working different jobs, he studied at the Lehman College CUNY and earned his Associate degree in accounting.
In April 1992, he married Weizero Lishan Debretsion. Together they have two cherished sons, Nahom and Yossef. After briefly suffering from sickness, he passed away on Jun 18th, 2022.
Tsadu was an ardent supporter of the Eritrean people's struggle and a pillar of his community.
The family wishes to thank everyone who helped through this journey, family, friends, and community.
