Tully Dempsey

Tully Dempsey, born on November 5, 1942, in Douglas County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 82. A dedicated and hardworking man, Tully spent his career as a self-employed truck driver, providing for his family with unwavering commitment and integrity. Tully was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frank and Mary Dempsey; his siblings, Ann Driver and Tim Dempsey; and his cherished grandson, Michael Tully Dempsey. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Sylvia Dempsey, who stood by his side through all of life's journeys. He leaves behind his loving children: Mike Dempsey and his wife Paula, Carol Pruitt and her husband Kelly, and Tammy Harper and her husband Chuck. Tully's legacy continues through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember him fondly. He is also survived by his siblings, Jackie Dempsey, Judy Phillips, Linda Steele, and Bill Dempsey, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service to honor Tully's life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Emeott officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church in Palmetto, Georgia. Tully Dempsey will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family and his enduring spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
