Ty Thi Hoang, 89, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Chester County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Khuong Van Hoang, with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. She was always kind, gentle and loving. All of her many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends loved and adored her. She will remain forever in our hearts.
Born in Bui Chu, Vietnam, she was the daughter of the late Ng Van Nguyen and Hoa Thi Nguyen.
Ty was a devout Catholic and long-time parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Vietnamese Catholic Community of Phoenixville/Chester County (Cong Doan Thanh Giuse). Ty enjoyed cooking, gardening, volunteering for the Vietnamese Catholic Community, traveling, and especially spending time and caring for her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 10 children, Minh Hoang (Kim Hong), Maria Hue Nguyen (Joseph Duc), Hon Nguyen, Kim Hin Hoang (Kevin), Chi Hoang (Kieu), Amanda Yeu Bellew (Brian), Felicia Men Hoang (Paul), Frank Phuoc Hoang (Holly Hong), Tom Tam Hoang (Cuc), John Hoang (Yen).
Also survived by 22 grandchildren, Du Hoang, Paul Hoang, Michael Hoang, Lisa Hoang, Christopher Nguyen, Peter Nguyen, Tommy Nguyen, Timmy Nguyen, Randy Pham, Steven Pham, Ryan Pham, Christian Hoang, Patrick Hoang, Zachary Quattro, James Quattro, Jordan Hoang, Adam Hoang, Chelsea Hoang, Emily Hoang, Isaac Hoang, Avery Hoang, Ethan Hoang.
In addition, she is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Harper, Aiden, Connor, Ellie, Brayden, Briella, Brynlee, Sienna, Kylie, Owen, Jayden and Zoe.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Thin Nguyen and by her sister in law, Hat Nguyen.
An evening viewing will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown followed by a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
A morning viewing will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, 1050 Pottstown Pike, West Chester.
