Ula Gross, was born on January 2, 1944, in Leslie County, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky. She was 81 years old. Ula was a cherished homemaker whose life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her community.
As a member the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ in Smilax, Kentucky, Ula's faith was an integral part of her life. She found joy in her hobbies, particularly in gardening, where she nurtured beautiful flower gardens that were a source of pride and relaxation. Cooking for her family brought her immense happiness, as she created countless memorable meals that brought loved ones together.
Ula is survived by her loving son, Charles Gross (Kimberly), and her devoted daughters, Tammy Gross, Tina Coots (Ricky), Theresa Wells (Cletis Jr.), Lisa Farmer, and Bonnie Gross. She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Ronnie P. Farmer (Brittany), Brandon Gross (Megan), Jordan Wells (Lanaya), Tyler Combs, and Savannah Baker. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Daxton Williams, Caiden Baker, Lynnox Lewis, Aiden Sumner, Rylan Sumner, and Brantley Sumner. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, James North, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Ula was predeceased by her beloved husband, Sylvan Gross, and her parents, Felix North and Polly Pennington North. She also mourned the loss of her infant baby girl, Linda Gail, and her son-in-law, Ronnie C. Farmer. Ula’s memory will be cherished by her special cousin, Ethel Turner, whom she raised as her own, and her dear friend, Louise Coots, who brought joy to her life.
Ula Gross will be remembered for her kindness, her love for her family, and her unwavering faith that guided her through life. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and compassion that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral: Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, Smilax, Kentucky
Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis
Interment: Sylvan Gross Memorial Cemetery, Wooton, Kentucky
Pallbearers: Ronnie P. Farmer, Jordan Wells, Brandon Gross, John Gross, Andy Myers and Tim Myers
Honorary Pallbearer: Tyler Combs
Visitation: Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 6:00-9:00 P.M. at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ
