Ural Clark Crase departed this earthly life Saturday, February 14, 2026 at ARH Medical Center in Hazard,Kentucky surrounded by his loving family at 7:52am. Ural was a proud native son of Kentucky born February 13, 1950 to William Clark and Thelma Nancy Crase. He lived a long meaningful life rooted in faith, family and hard work.
Ural dedicated 39 years of service to being a biological technician for USDA/NRCS. After retirement, he worked several years for the UK Robinson Center.
A man who found joy in the everyday blessings of life, Ural loved gardening and reading his bible while enjoying time with his family and attending church. Whether tending to vegetables, working with plants or trees he found joy and purpose in the soil. His favorite hobby was horticulture where he always had different trees all over his little farm being grafted.
He was a dedicated husband to his wife, Jearlene Arrowood Crase for 56 years. He was also a dedicated father to his 3 daughters and a wise grandfather to his 3 grandsons. He cherished time spent sitting on the porch soaking up sunshine and sipping his coffee.
Ural was a long-time member and deacon of Cow Creek Old Regular Baptist church and a dedicated attendee of Shoulderblade Old Regular Baptist Church of Jesus Christ where he found spiritual strength and fellowship throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clark Crase and Thelma Nancy Bailey Crase; his brother, Glenn Crase and his sister, Dalpha Lee Armstrong.
Ural is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jearlene Arrowood Crase; his daughters, Thelma Sue Crase (Sam Rogers), Teresa Gayle Crase-Hunter (Gordon) and Erica Renee Carter (Allen). He is also survived by his special grandsons, Mason Blake Rogers, Caden Steven Carter and Eli Callen Carter who will continue to carry on his memory.
Ural also leaves behind his sister, Hallabee Chaney and his brothers, Ray Crase, Homer Crase (Peggy), Everett Crase (Doris) and Donnie Crase (Esther) along with a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Ural will be begin Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with his funeral service to start at 1:00 PM with Brian Turner and Paul Turner officiating.
Burial for Ural will follow in the Arrowood Family Cemetery at Joe Little Fork of Canoe, Kentucky with Gary Crase, Christopher Chaney, Donnie Crase, Gordon Crase, Earl Arrowood and Paul Arrowood serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Blake Rogers, Caden Steven Carter, and Eli Callen Carter.
Ural's legacy is one of faith, humbleness, quiet strength, enduring love for family and appreciation of the simple things in life. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
