Ursula Margarete Eckersley, a loving mother and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Tempe, Arizona, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 12, 1940, in Sulechów, Germany (now Poland), and later moved to the United States with her husband, Arden Lyle Eckersley, where they built a life together.
She married Arden on November 25, 1960, and together they shared many cherished moments, raising two sons who brought them great joy. Ursula dedicated over 30 years of her professional life as a bookkeeper and banker in El Paso, showcasing her commitment to her work and community. They moved to Ruidoso Downs in 1987. She enjoyed living in the mountains with Arden and was involved in the community.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Eckersley, and her son-in-law, Michael Berg. Ursula is preceded in death by her husband, Arden Eckersley, her son, Leroy Kurt Eckersley, and her parents, Kurt and Anna Pfeiffer.
Ursula’s memory will be honored at a graveside service on May 29, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at Fort Stanton State Veterans Cemetery, located in Fort Stanton, NM, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
