Ursula A. Gawlak

GAWLAK, Ursula - of Birch Run, formerly of Germany, age 80, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Bridgeport. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church - 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Burial in Birch Run Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the Ronald McDonald House.

Ursula was born April 29, 1945, in Heilbronn, State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, to the late Willi and Margarethe (Correll) Berheide. She graduated from Höhere Handelsschule, higher school of economics, in Germany, and worked as a legal secretary for several years. Ursula married her beloved husband, Kenneth Gawlak, in April 1982, and together they shared 46 years of marriage. She was a faithful member of SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Ursula was a loving, hard-headed woman who enjoyed traveling in her spare time and cooking authentic German dishes for her loved ones. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Ursula is forever remembered by: Husband, Ken Gawlak; Special Granddaughter, Leah Gawlak; Daughter, Sandra Rae; 5 Grandchildren; Sister, Ingrid (Hermann) Meyer; Many beloved pets. Ursula was preceded in death by: Beloved daughters, Melanie Gawlak and Stephanie Tipton; Parents, Willi and Margarethe.
