V. "Carol" H. Lanier, at the age of 74, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Carol was a dedicated member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She was also a committed member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion #5 in Hammond, Louisiana. Carol was an animal lover, equestrian, and humanitarian, and dearly her feline babies, Garfield and Myra. She was recognized with multiple outstanding awards for her distinguished and dedicated hard work in sales for many years by DH Holmes, Dillards, Sears, and Walgreens. Above all she adored her family and loved spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who is already dearly missed by all those that love and knew her.

Survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Steven Gerard Lanier; daughter, Stephanie Lanier Day (Derrick); grandsons, Jacob Herrod (Allison) and Lloyd Herrod (Jacquelyn); great-grandsons, Landon, Rowen, and Laken; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Suzy and Robert, sister-in-law, Carol, and sister-in-law Cherie; nieces, Lydia Langham (Greg), Diane (David), Suzanne (Titkemeyer), and Angie Lanier; nephews, Louis (Shelby), Kenny (Evelyn), Tommy (LaTisha), Robert, James, and Benny Lanier; and many other loved ones.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gordon "Earl" Sr. and Vivian Harper; siblings, Beverly and Earl Jr. (Marilyn); and brothers-in-law, Leon and Ed "Eddie".

Pallbearers will be Robert Lanier, Louis Lanier, Greg Langham, Lloyd Herrod, Robert Spencer and Tommy Spencer.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the ASPCA and All Saints Episcopal Church in loving memory of Carol.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in 1190 Hwy. 51 North, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on December 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. the funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Mary Ann Heine at All Saints Episcopal Church at 250 West Hickory St. Ponchatoula, LA 70454. Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
