Vaiden Young Phillips

PHILLIPS, Vaiden Young, 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. After serving four years in the Air Force, Vaiden worked for Peoples Life Insurance Co. and retired after 41 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anna Phillips; two sons, Atwell Young Phillips and wife, Robin, of Mechanicsville and David Vaiden Phillips of Lawrenceville; two grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlin; beloved nieces and nephews and their spouses; and two sisters-in-law, Mabel Lafoon and Elaine Phillips and husband, Doyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Atwell and Minnie Phillips; sisters, Corine P. Miles, Erline P. Thomas and Joyce P. Seymour; and brothers, Osborne Phillips and Drew Phillips. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery, Brodnax, Va. The family will receive friends after the service. Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brunswick Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
