Valerie Kay Sanders, 67, of Terre Haute, formerly of Loogootee, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute.
Born October 9, 1958 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Donald and Violet (Ward) Fields.
She married Douglas Lee Sanders on June 18, 1977, and he survives.
Valerie was an active member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church in Terre Haute. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Valerie was an avid collector of Angels.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Douglas; two sons, Gerald M. (Amanda) Sanders and Charles E. Sanders; four grandchildren, Travis (Kiara) Woody, Christopher Sanders, Gavin Sanders, and Noah Sanders; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Shelly) Fields; one sister, Phyllis Jacobs; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and aunt, Lula Jane Fields.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Ezekiel officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour on Monday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
