James Richard Force

James “Jim” R. Force, 86, of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at his residence.
Born July 10, 1939, in Washington, he was the son of John T. and Margaret (McCarty) Force.
Jim graduated from Shoals High School.
He worked as an engineer and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Jim was an avid Civil War historian, enjoyed hiking, reading, and genealogy.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his nephews and nieces, Carlos (Sharon) Force, Greg Force, Jeff (Donna) Force, Tim (Dawn) Force, Dr. Michelle (Dr. Jesse Sutter) Force, Mike Force, and Karen Force, Julie Montgomery; great-nieces and great-nephews, Aaron (Vroni) Force, Katherine Force, Resa Force, Lauren Force, Bella Force, Chris (Fuki) Force, Ko Force, Jin Force, Matt Force, Sierra (Gabby) Rochelle, Britney Force, Abby Force, Jesse Sutter VI, and Charlie Sutter, Nova Montgomery, Samantha (Justin Hoskins) and Nick MacKinnon; cousins, Harold (Debra) Force and David (Cindy) Force; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Force and Lois Brett; lifelong friend, Terry Harper; and special caregivers, Terry and Rene Phillips, Karla Henry, Laken Inman, and Hope Baylis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles Force and Robert “Bob” Force.
Funeral service will be at Noon on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care in Shoals. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour on Saturday at the Queen-Lee Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Martin County Cancer Patient Services or the Shoals Public Library, in memory of James “Jim” Force.
